About Strathclyde House Apartments

Strathclyde House is an independent living housing scheme set in beautiful, landscaped gardens with large terraces that look directly across the Firth of Clyde to the islands of Bute and Arran. It was opened in 2000 and became part of Pilgrims' Friend Society in 2019.

With 56 apartments, four guest rooms, a resident’s laundry and a public café, Strathclyde House offers a mixture of studio, one and two bedroom apartments available for purchase or rent.

Residents must be over 50 and uphold the Christian ethos and values that are an important part of Pilgrims Friend Society and our community here. As well as community fellowship events, there are also a variety of social activities on offer including carpet bowls and Scrabble evenings.

Purpose built apartments

All our apartments at Strathclyde House include:

  • Lots of natural light
  • Beautiful views over the Clyde
  • Hallway and Lounge (some with French doors and Juliet balconies)
  • Double bedroom with built in wardrobe
  • Generously sized bathroom, some with bath with shower over, some with walk in shower
  • Modern kitchen with ample storage cupboards, a built-in cooker and hob, and space for a washing machine
  • Use of the communal gardens and terraces

Cafe Onnifer

Cafe Onnifer is open Tuesday to Sunday. In good weather food can be enjoyed sitting out on one of the terraces. The sunsets here are amazing and it is wonderful to be able to sit outside and appreciate unspoilt views over the Clyde as the sun goes down.
